Rectifiable scarcity was found in 297 dams in Maharashtra after monsoon

Maharashtra’s newest record on dam safety has seen 297 dams with rectifiable scarcities which require urgent consideration and other 1,055 issues.

The report says that no dams have any major scarcity which could direct to failure and also examined 1,352 of the 1,358 dams in the state, an official said.

297 dams were recognised as rectifiable scarcities, 94 dams are over 30 metres in height and are Class I structures and the rest 203 are Class II with heights ranging in 15-30 metres, an official told.

He said, 1,055 dams are identified as minor scarcities and none of the dams has any major deficiency.
